Chudnite mostove

Chudnite mostove

Chudnite mostove are close to the bulgarian town Smolyan. They are three in total. The biggest one is 15 m wide and nearly 100 m long with three arches. Second one is 60 m long, not accessible with one arch. The third one is a cave, also very small because water enters from one side and goes out from the other. You can walk easily on and under main one. The church St. Nicholas is located in the bulgarian town Karlovo, not far from Plovdiv. It has been built in 1850. Many famous iconographers take part in its decoration. The basilica from early Byzantine period is located near the bulgarian village Gela, Smolyan municipality. It has been built from bricks and stones. There have been found many windows with round edges and next to it two premises. It is supposed that one of them have been used probably as a chapel. Dobarsko

Dobarsko

The church is located in the bulgarian village Dobarsko, not far from town Razlog. It is believed that first people who have visited this place came in 1014. They have been soldiers of king Samuil, blinded after the battle in Belasitsa. They have healed their wounds with spring water from the yard of this church. An unique thing is that there have been no renovations of wallpaintings. They show more than 460 saints and local heroes. St. George and St. Dimitar are shown here in full size which is seen only here and in Athos. Saints are 30, not 4 - 5 as usual which is not seen at other places. The garden is full with different kinds of flowers, making it very attractive. This site is part of UNESCO heritage because of its art and historical value.

Chernichevo

Chernichevo

The nekropol in the bulgarian village of Chernichevo has been made of seven dolmens. They date from end of 2nd century B.C --- beginning of 1st century B.C. Fragments from thracian ceramic have been found there and nearby a collection from bronze Maroneia's coins, dating from 4th century B.C. Chernichevo is located at roughly 252 km from Sofia and south of this bulgarian town Kardzhali. The places for accomodation in town of Kardzhali are diverse like 2,3 star hotels, appartments, villas and private rooms. The temple womb is located near Kardzhali. This ancient bulgarian site represents a natural cave with a lenght of 22 m. At the end of it you will see an altar resembling a womb which gives its name. Devil's throat cave

The Devil's throat cave is not far from the bulgarian village Trigrad, Devin municipality. Its lenght is 110 m, 40 m width and 35 m high which makes it the second biggest after Devetashka cave. Thracians have been used it and there is a legend which says that Orpheus has went to look his beloved Evridika in Hades kingdom. You can see an underground waterfall which is a rare site in the country. Haramiiska cave

Haramiiska cave is not far from the bulgarian village Trigrad, Devin municipality. Its history is related with thracians, old stone era (20 - 15000 years B.C.) and the eneolitic era.
